Much to my shame, I still haven't seen most of The Clone Wars...

From what I can tell though, it's still Star Wars at heart. Yes, it might not be OUR Star Wars, but that's not to take anything from it. Besides, OUR Star Wars is be released in a little over a year (and we pray that it is awesome!).

I WOULD say that any Star Wars is good Star Wars... but some smartysith will point out the Holiday Special.. and we'll all start crying.

The final season felt a little rushed (understandable since it was unfortunately cancelled), but overall, I'd rate The Clone Wars higher than the all prequels put together.

I enjoyed the original Clone Wars cartoon by Genndy Tartakovsky (creator of Dexter's Laboratory)
but I also have not seen much of the Cartoon Network Clone Wars series either.
I've seen just one trailer, and I am so far, looking forward to this new show.

The new series features a droid named Chopper who is a squat R5 variant, based on a concept droid built in 2002 by a Canadian R2 Builder Alex Kung, which would actually be able to fit in the wing of a Jedi Star Fighter.

My R2 was supposed to do a press event in NYC on Oct 8th for the new series, but they canceled his appearance. I think they may have found a builder with a chopper droid and I'm cool with that.

I'll just have to settle for free admission to NY Comic Con as a guest of SMS audio on the 9th.
'Life's hard out there for a droid I tells ya.'

Oh woe is Voort, and his constant Star Wars appearances!

I'll do my best to keep current with the new one, and try and catch up with The Clone Wars on the side.

First impressions of Star Wars Rebels - S01E01 - Spark of Rebellion:

(Spoilers. Highlight to read)
===========================================
-= Cons =-

- Art style not my favorite. Cheezy, but not a deal-breaker. Animation a little rough at times.
- Disney's Star Destroyer model... whhhhhhyyyy...
- Several SFX clips sound like they were cookie-cut from the movies without any doing anything to make them fit the scene.
- Too many "Who is that kid/guy?" lines.
- Predictable character development. Poorly timed music revealing too much.
- No budget for the Wookie SFX.
- TIE pilot skill dependant upon plot.
- Badly delivered Jedi spiel. Unenthusiastic Jedi.

-= Mixed =-

- Steven Blum as the voice of Garazeb and misc troopers... also the voice of numerous other anime and video game characters. Very distracting.
- Agent Kallus' beard.
- Energy Slingshot...
- New trooper helmets

-= Pros =-

- Finally. Reasonably sized access shafts.
- A Lasat.
- Mando's.
- Story predictable but decent.
- Inquisitors!
