If someone were to ask Corran and I what the best Rogue Squadron plot was, we'd both instantly answer "Plot 1."

Plot 1 is the most creative, spontaneous, fun, insane, interesting plot RS has even written. Simply put, it is nothing short of a masterpiece. The plot was a joy to write and remains a joy to read. The plot ended with the same intense spontaneity that it began with. Plot 1 was never planned; after all it spontaneously began from a single, 254 word 3 paragraph story! Corran and I remember RS members vigorously writing a plot in study hall and rushing home just to post it. Yes, people were that excited and thrilled about it! It was a race sometimes to see who could post the next plot. You NEVER knew what would happen with the plot. The plot was always left open ended, writers often stopping their story at its excitement vertex, allowing any writer to dream up and write the next installment. Often several plots would be written and posted in a single day. In one day, the plot could be steered in any direction!

This may be a surprise to some of you, since Plot 1 grammar is "very creative" (another way of saying poor grammar) and can be down right confusing sometimes. Corran and I attribute poor grammar to the age of the writers and the confusion to the wonderful insanity that raged during plot 1. J

So why are Corran and I telling you all this? For Plot 10, We'd like to revert, to an extent, back to the original Plot 1 format. Why? Because we believe it's the most fun, interesting, and enjoyable way to plot. Here are the things we'd like to implement into plot 10.

Creativity and spontaneity are the key elements of RS Plot 1. So the Plot 10 story will be completely open ended. Any writer can write at any time. Any writer can steer the story any direction. Their anchor is the last plot, but who knows where the plot might go! It adds a level of "What is going to happen next?" to the writers and readers alike. Horn and I encourage starting off an idea, and stopping the plot at exciting peak, allowing other writers to continue the idea barred only by the length of breath of their imagination. Remember, the Writers Guild is writers writing together, building off each others stories, each writer able to steer the entire plot in their stories. Together, the writer's guild is writing 1 story. 1 story with many writers.

We are not trying to restrict writers, on the contrary! Corran and I are trying to add a level of freedom (within reason and already established plot rules) in the Plot 10 as seen in the original plot 1 masterpiece. We know in the more recent plots, writers sometimes felt they couldn't write because someone had a plan or that they couldn't take control of the plot. Writers may plan ahead, but who knows where the plot will be headed in a week, forcing writer to creatively adapt ideas or plans into the plot! Grab the bull by the horns, write, you are in control of the plot!

Plot 1, story 1:
By Ran Kether

As Calli leaves the sabaac game, Ran looks over the disaster area once called his quarters. However, he was happy. He had a large pocket full of credits, and 2 technical favors were owed to him by Cubber. Since Cubber had been relieved of his credits, he said he'd pay anybody in the terms of technical service. A popcorn machine in his X-Wing and Spinx were soon to be enjoyed...
Ran flopped down on the couch, and soon he fell asleep. In a moment, the far wall burst into flames, and blaster bolts filled the air. Stormtroopers poor into the hole that was once ran's outer wall. Ran drops into a firing position and fires 3 bolts, each hitting with lethal accuracy. However, there were just to many of them. Falling back he kept up a constant amount of blaster fire against the troopers. Iella who was standing outside the door kicks the door in and comes in. Seeing the room thick with troopers, she thanks the deities that she was carrying some high explosives. chucking them in at the troopers they explode. 3 Blaster bolts hit Ran in his gun arm, and Ran is pushed to his knees by the force of the concussion, while Iella tries to drag him out. Soon the troopers overcome both Iella and Ran and they're dragged off.
Blearily Ran hears the distant combat alarms of the base blare, but then he succumbs to the throbbing pain from the blaster shots and the shrapnel wounds from the grenade.
