Tales from Rogue Squadron

<puts on historian voice>

The very first continuing storyline in RS arrived in the month of April in the year of 1999, five months after RS came into being.

It was inspired by a continuing storyline the members of the Upper Transylvannia BBS (a type of online club that was a pre-curser to widespread internet use) engaged in. The UT BBS actually led to the creation of RS. My sister started a newsletter for the BBS entitled UT Frenz, which eventually developed into a creative writing magazine entitled Inkblots. Through Inkblots, my sister met a friend who's brother was a Star Wars freak. After sending a couple e-mails back and forth, the Star Wars freak, Janson, and I started the Delta Force e-mai loop, which in a few weeks we replaced with the Rogue Squadron e-mail loop.

Although Tales from Rogue Squadron was posted in a number of archives throughout the years, the original introduction and prologue to the story were never included in those manuscripts...until now.

(please remember that we were much younger, less experienced writers at the time)
(we also had this annoying tendency to paste everyone's stories in first before our own each time we posted a new addition)

Greetings Pilots,

I gotta GREAT idea for our squadron!!! Let's do "continuation stories"!!!
I will write the first paragraph of a SW story that I will make up. I
will end my part of the story at an suspensful part. Then someone else
adds to it, and so on. Until we have a whole SW story! I've seen this
kind of story done before, and it's hilarious!!! I think it is deffinetly
something we should try!!! You don't have to write anything long at all.
Try to make it funny, but not too ludicrous! Remeber, in the SW galaxy
anything can happen!

Here is my first paragraph. You can go in any order of who writes the
next one. We may even have several stories branching off of one! Also,
you don't have to be a writer to put your own paragraph in! Well, here
goes...

I know they're "public domain" by now, but if you start digging into the archives and pulling up my first emails and plot 1A stories...there's gonna be trouble ;)
I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels this way :D :D heheh

Man, even Zev was in on some of that pl0ttage. That's REALLLLLYYY old school.

Actually, I'm not entirely sure you wrote part of that story. Looking at the old posts, you started writing a story, then had computer problems, so you handed your unfinished story over to Tierce to finish it. Tierce later posted his story, but I don't know for sure if it included your unfinished part or not.
