Nice pic... touching really. End of an era.

Someone with more skills than I have should take these images and make a (if you'll excuse the pun) Rogues Gallery. Kinda like a members list (for members only), with any details on there that we want to put.

Here's one to keep Face happy in the meanwhile. This is the Self Portrait that I had to submit for my Photo Class. It's a little hard to read but I wrote "I am a Photographer" on a mirror backwards and had it reflect onto my face.

Intense.

Deven is one long-time I've never seen a pic of! Or spoken to on Skype/AIM Voice Chat. I don't even know his real name. Perhaps he's a Gungan or something.

A gungan! A gungan! Oh the humanity! My hurt feelings and the anger, oh, the anger.

You probably won't see a pic till I either have the money for a decent camera or I can borrow one.

The only one I have is of the cheap and nasty kind. Hmmm...my birthday is next saturday. Perhaps I could bully my older brother into getting me a good camera. *Begins making plans*

Well...Might as well let ya'll see me...or at least what I put up with. My friend is the kind one in the purple bear suit petting my head, and this was back when I decided to bleach a two inch chunk of hair on either side of my face...crazy enough for you? If I can find a picture that actually shows my face, I'll try.

Quite brave to be posting your picture already. Of course, you wisely hid your eyes to block our retina scanning.

Yes, great socks. They look like Where's Waldo socks when he's lost his shoe on one of the pages.

Yeah, those socks are awesome-- the only thing they need is individual flaps for each toe. That's the only way they can get better.

Is that in a dorm/school/apartment/mad-experimentation-laboratory?

Re: Retina Scanning - I am well aware of your trickeries! I may be plunging in...but not brainwashed yet, :P

Re: Socks - I have tons of crazy socks...and I will have to put up a picture of the toe socks now...why are you all so fascinated by feet....o_o

Re: Room - That is a math room on the first floor of the Science building. Might as well tell the story now that goes with this picture

So...I am part of the Gaelic Culture Society on campus, and this was the point in my first year when they decided they needed a PR person, and guess who got that ::waves::

So, this is our Vice President...now president. He made this, suit, and then decided he would wear it to the meeting. I arrive and see him through the glass doors to the building and pause long enough to see him grinning. So, being the wise first year I was, I drop my bookbag and bolt as fast as I can in the opposite direction.

He followed. Lumbering after me, bellowing at the top of his lungs "I Just want to HUG YOU!" which ends with me continuing to flee, eventually screaming for help. I run past our police station on campus, with three cops outside. I slow down praying for a rescue...

They wave and watch me pass...both times I run by them...followed by the bear.

I was eventaully captured, and brought to this room, where he sat petting my head while the rest of the officers snickered and decided this was the new initiation right.

Though this picture does look like you could be viewing this through the pane of an experimental window, those fun double sided mirror ones we use in the psychology department even.

Gaelic Culture club eh? That rocks-- I'm half Irish (And half filipino, which makes me wholely confused most of the time) so I go around wearing "People's Republic of Cork" T-Shirts and Hoodies all the time. And my Dad plays the Uilleann bagpipes which has twisted me into somehow loving such bands as Flogging Molly and such.

Rock on.

Okay, I made the silly mistake of making a hat... pain in the butt, actually, but it's so cool! His name is Dashing, and he has 5 genuine pheasant feathers and a lovely antique button.

Um, no, but I have a green bodice and green and brown skirts that are renaissance period. Robin Hood is a bit early for the renaissance, and I don't know of many men (even back then) who would walk around in hose without some sort of pants.

::Noddles:: Yep...even if it looked more like ribbons, men weren't in the ballet style hose then.

I am jealous of that hat...must...sew ...more...

*pats Gavin's head* It's okay.

I do re-enactments, Myn, that's why I know a lot about historical fashion. I do renaissance faires, actually, but like medieval history, so know about that too. And took lots of Greek/Roman history, so I guess I know about that too.... And to top it off, I'm taking a costume history class, so I'll be a real historical fashion geek!

I'll have to have someone take my picture at faire this weekend so I can show you guys my full getup.

If I didn't get to play with the SCA fighters this weekend, I might have had to come, kidnap you, and then impersonate you at the Faire.

See, THIS is why I'm constantly putting off putting my picture into this section! TOO MANY PRETTY RSers! I mean, dude.

And, on a related note, why are so many of the RSers, geeks by our own admission, good looking? Aren't geeks supposed to be all nerdy and gross like? Yet look at us! We're a handsome bunch.

We're the newer generation of geeks. Better looking. More socially adept. Less intelligent. But more prevalent.

Face Factorial: An Explanation of Geekiness Versus Good Looks
This theory is based on the idea that we are all, at some level, geeks, with some amount of good looks multiplied by geographical proximity and level of communication with Face, who, as the handsomest man in the galaxy (Some say) will have a positive effect on our looks the longer the duration and the more proximate and more frequent level of communication we have with him. Much like how closer proximity and lighter mass cause objects to speed up next to a strong gravitational pull, Face's good looks cause ours to increase. Get the analogy? Because if you don't, stop reading here. And yes. We'll need the patented Ego-Deflater to pop Face's ego after this post. Apologies all around.

This is all, of course, guesswork and strictly for the sake of me being a geek at 2:40 in the morning.

Maybe how good you look and your geekiness factor is some sort of equation with the following variables:

N= Native Geek Factor, which is your native geek factor on a scale of 1-10

T= Is the variable Time in days since your first contact with Face.

I= Initial Good Looks on a scale of .1-1.0; totally subjective, personally I think we're all 1.0s. Bwhahaa.

F= The Face Factor; If Face's good looks have rubbed off on us via a fraction of 1 over the geographic proximity in miles [G] (1/G) to London, and length of time in minutes of communication total [c] divided by frequency of communication in one week[W] (F= (1/G)*(C/W) )

R= R is the constant added to Geekiness you get for joining a Star Wars Web Board to begin with. I arbitrarily assigned R to be 1. Good job.

P= The number of Posts you've put out here on the board divided by 1000. The more you have the geekier you are.

{(N+R)*P}/{(F*T)+I}

This should give you your Geek/Looks Coefficient; the closer it is to 1, the more you are to a socially adept, good looking human being who just happens to be extremely adept at the Art of Geekdom.

So.

I score the following on The Kether-Targon Scale of Geek&Good-Looks:

N=10
T= 2190
I= 5 (Let's just say I'm average and NOT start some sort of "Whose the Rogue's Hottest" type thing yeah?),
F= (1/6662)*(180/5)
R= 1 (Kudos for joining US!)
P= (Including this one) .427

Okay. So {(10+1)*(.427)}/{(180/5*6662)*(2190)+.5}

Okay. So if all that comes out right you should get something like .3808 or so or, roughly (Using the simplest of rounding techniques) 5/12.

Of course, the problem with this theory is the only way you'll get to 1 is if you're Face and an absolute geek. But hey, this gives us a reference point to start on right? And if anybody goes through and does that math, I fully don't expect it to be right; I had to adjust the variables as I went so I didn't get ridiculously high or low numbers. But hey. I'm a Double Humanities Major, so my math doesn't have to be correct just like your speeling doesn't have to be gooder if your a engineer.

Okay. Now time to sleep.

Ran... You constantly amaze me.

*Edit*

I tried to work out mine... but when I got the the FaceFactor, the numbers got kinda surreal, so I'll have to settle for a 0.9. (Not an absolute geek!)

Hm, well...if we're looking to find Standard Deviation From Face, I think we need to all compute our scores and draw up the simple frequency distribution. I am suspect to if we'll have a skew or not...

Hypothesis: Female scores will cluster closer to 1 on the basis that the combitation of a automatically higher natural beauty [aka, sex goddesses all!] and the magnetic pull of Face on them leading them to move closer and interact more with him will bump their scores closer to 1

Shoot...am I practicing my stats class here!? I AM!

o_O

P.S. If we keep inflating his ego..it'll just make a louder bang when it pops!

Math! No!

I think Ran should score very high on the geek scale just for making it up.

The reason why they get surreal is because when I used the geographic proximity to London (G) I was actually referencing how close they are to you-- I assume London as the locus point of Faciality. In reality, your geographic proximity to Face is zero since you ARE Face and, unless you're really weird, you can't be away from yourself, unless you're C3P0 with R2D2 dragging your head across a battle ring as winged aliens shoot at you. So, you would actually get 1/0 which is undefined since in math, you can't divide by zero.

Theoretically speaking, zero divides into 1 an infinite number of times so you'd get F=Infinity, which would be multiplied by T and I (Which is very inconsequential for us); at which point you'd be dividing some number by infinity, which would, at least in Calculus, mean you're going to zero.

Because of all this, I have to assume the only thing that can be logically drawn from these numbers Face: You don't exist.

Well, here's a picture of me and my guild. If we all look filthy, pardon us. We had been surrounded by clouds of dust all day, many of us having been without showers since Thursday. The 3 of us on the bottom (me on the far right) were cheerleaders for the knights, and the head of the guild is the woman in black just above me to the right.

well, i already posted my fish picture. how about a nice and unattractive running shot? i'm sprinting into the finish which is why my running form is so bad. it's from the conference race last fall, i just found it online today. notice how i'm flying since neither of my feet are on the ground! sorry it's so big, i would resize it but i'm making cookies.

Okay...some expressed interest in seeing me fit 31 grapes in my mouth...as I did not have a camera the first time I attempted this feat, I had to try again and this time, I was successful in fitting 35 grapes in my "mouse."

nah, that's not the most in pain i've looked while running. but i did have to force myself to not black out after that race. my vision went black a couple times. i think the closest i've ever come to blacking out after a race.

OK... in order of new pictures...

Shadow... nice pic, but why has the girl in the middle got antlers?

Cali, action shot! Cool! Glad to see that not only are we a handsome bunch of 'geeks', but we're pretty action orientated as well!

Ailie... You scare me. I mean REALLY.

Bowman... Sorry pal, but I'm used that that from you! ;)

Gavin looks like Rimmer in that episode he gets that holodisease and goes mad and wears a gingham dress and kills people with his lazer eyes... you know the one.

And Ailie - possibly you should not be telling people just how much of ANYTHING you can fit into your mouth. It's not ladylike, for a start! ;)

Face, the girl hasn't got antlers, she's just sitting right in front of a pole that they're tied to.

I'm not sure if this will work, but here is a photo of Face and myself, taken kinda recently, by my mobile phone's camera. So it's not very good. The fact I have my eyes close attests to the fact I didn't want my photo taken, too. Also it looks like I have no hands. But I do, they were just cosy!warm inside my sleeves... This photo does, however, prove I know Face. Hah! I will now post two mildy better photos of me...

I know, it took her since the summer of 2000 to post some. But finally, Mish pics! Weee!

Though someone in a dark cloak slipped me a Mish pick a couple years back.

That Face head is totally pasted, though. I can see the crummy selection job. We all know Mish actually lives in a little town in Kansas.

!!! There is photographic evidence of Faceage in that photo! It only looks weird 'cause I'm so short so Face had to bend down. He exists! And I do not live in Americaland. Pah!

Hee. Well, I thought you guys had waited long enough. Cheers for appreciating me! They're good photos, I guess. (the Kai part of my ego is loving the praise...)!!!

But, uh...can I shrink that picture a tad for you so we don't have to scroll back and forth for the entire page ;-)

Ummm...Halley. You appear to have Padme on your ceiling.

And is that a pic of the Tantive IV I see to the left. Only a tiny bit visible but I'm confident of being right. 8)

Haha, sorry, Deven. It's actually 2 A-wings flying above Endor. The full poster features a B-wing flying in front of the Death Star II, with a score of TIE Interceptors swooping down to shoot the A-wings and an X-wing that you see.

And yes, I know Natalie Portman is on my ceiling...it's a very nice thing to wake up to in the mornings :wink:

Curses, It looked so much like the engines of a corvette. Except now that I'm sober I can clearly see only four engine nozzles.
